The ParentWISE Program of Wesley Family Services is presenting their Strengthening Families Program for parents and youth (age 10-14). Strengthening Families is an evidence-based parent, youth, and family skills-building curriculum that prevents teen substance abuse and other behavior problems, strengthens parent/youth communication skills, increases academic success in youth and prevents violence and aggressive behavior at home and at school. Classes will be held on Thursdays, April 25th – May 23rd, 2024. Dinner is at 5:30 p.m., and class is 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Wesley Family Services Pioneer, 1045 4th Avenue, New Kensington. The New Kensington-Arnold School Board will have an Education Committee Meeting on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. The meeting will be held in the Planetarium at VJSHS, 703 Stevenson Boulevard, New Kensington, PA. There will not be a virtually option. The meeting is open to the public.

On Friday, March 22, 2024, the New Kensington-Arnold School District will be having an early release of students for the spring vacation. Listed below are the release times for students in each building.

Valley Junior/Senior High School - 12:25 p.m.

Roy A. Hunt Elementary School - 1:05 p.m.

H.D. Berkey Elementary School - 1:30 p.m.

Martin Elementary School - 1:30 p.m.
